When is the deadline for applications?
The deadline for applications is usually a few weeks after the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) results have been published. Please check the "How to Apply - Procedure" page for upcoming deadlines.

Is there an age limit for applications?
Students need to be between the ages of 16 and 18 when they arrive at the colleges. For entry in 2023, your birthday needs to be between August 1st, 2005, and August 1st, 2007.

I am not fluent in English, does this matter?
No. Do not be discouraged from applying to UWC because of a lack of fluency in English. It is not a requirement to apply, but it can be one of the factors evaluated during selection.

I don't have a passport. What will happen?

Applicants are encouraged to have passports. But the national committee will give you logistical support where necessary.


Can you help me with a scholarship for further education (university etc)?
UWC does not offer scholarships for university or further tertiary education.

Where does the funding for UWC come from, and how are the scholarships for UWC students paid for?
The scholarships are provided either by the colleges or by the national committees through localized fundraising. Donors to UWC include philanthropists, private companies, governments and alumni.

Can I attend UWC for only one year or transfer into a UWC from another IB school for my last year?
No. The UWC experience is two years long and there are no opportunities to attend for one year or to transfer from another IB school for the last year.
